New Underpinnings

Just one more post before continuing.

I'm in desperate need for some new underwear. Went through my drawer last night and the collection of undergarments was pathetic. I know I have mentioned my frustration with bra shopping before—and I still hate it. Everything has push-up, padding, lifts and liners. I really don't need or want any of that. When I put them on I look like I have melon breasts—who wants to look like that?!

Anyway, these from Victoria's Secret were the only ones I could find on short notice. On the plus side, I really love the cute fabrics (Rich loved the stripes and I loved the polka dots) and they are really comfy.

Next time I should probably plan ahead and check online for a little better selection. If anyone know of a great place to shop for cute bras and panties—let me know!

On the Cheap: T-shits and Belts

Deep conditioner in my hair and a mud mask on my face, taking a break from packing to munch on some much needed brown rice spicy tuna sushi. Gosh, I love sushi!

Running around trying to make everything fit in our tiny car (small cars aren't always so good. lol)—as always I have way to much stuff. I'm so out of control when it comes to packing. If I'm going to be away for three days, I tend to bring at least seven different outfits. Of course now we have all the baby stuff too, so I have to go through everything one more time to decide what I will actually use and leave the rest behind.

I managed to squeeze in some last minute shopping before packing up. Found these great pocketed t-shirts at Gap for $5.99 each and two skinny belts ($3.99 and $5.99). These will be perfect for the weekend with my denim mini! I have become such a bargain hunter lately. It's actually giving me a little kick when I find something I want and it just happens to be on clearance. I guess I'm just lucky like that.

I guess I should get back to packing up so we can head out before midnight =)

Feeling Coy

Hair Wonders

Just got these two styling products and they are absolutely wonderful. The Nexxus Thermal Volumizing Heat Protection Mousse really helps protect your hair while using hot irons and blow driers, and the Moroccan Oil Gold Glimmer Shine Spray makes your hair look super healthy.

Handbag of the Day: Mulberry

Actually, I can't pick just one bag from Mulberry—I love the classic clean lines of all their bags, especially the Alexa ($795-$1,250) and Bayswater [in tomato red] ($1,150) bags. Plus, the leather is top-notch. These are bags that you can have forever and never go out of fashion.

Today's Outfit

Tulip skirt and t-shirt, Banana Republic; Red patent heels, Nine West; Yellow tote bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs; Pearls, Forever 21

J Crew Novo-Stripe Bomber Blouse

Great silk blouse from J Crew in charcoal and white stripes with really cute button details on the sleeves. think this one will look really cool under my black leather jacket. Plus, it can be worn either as a blouse or as a cardigan topper, which makes it super wearable!

Lunch at Salud

I love this little Latin American restaurant on Beekman Street downtown Manhattan. We had some fantastic Ecuadorian shrimp ceviche with spicy citrus sauce and Anticuchos grilled skirt steak with chimichurri. Plus, they have one of the best red Sangrias in town. After ordering a glass, I kind of wished we had gone for a whole pitcher. But it was lunch and Rich needed to go back to work afterwards—being drunk at work is not really a good thing.

Six Pounds and Counting

That's all that is left of the baby pounds—6 measly pounds (2.7 kg)! 38 pounds already gone.

During the pregnancy I freaked out when I went to the doctor and the scale showed that I had gained about 5 pounds in 2 weeks. That's not easy to take, even if you know you are pregnant. Anyway, now I'm in the home stretch—and I'm celebrating. I fit into about 95% of my old clothes again =) Now if I can just get rid of those final six that seem to be stuck on my hips and belly!

Today's outfit: Dress, SheSaid; Belt, Target, Peep toe pumps, Nine West, Headband, J Crew

Long Hampton Weekend

Decided to be good and start prepping early for the upcoming weekend in the Hamptons. I think I must have ten loads of laundry to do. Ugh. And food shopping of course—I hate food shopping. I think it's my least favorite thing to do—ever! Kind of weird since I love to cook. Rich is telling me everyday to just do that Peapod grocery delivery thing, but I'm too cheap to spend $10 plus tip for delivery.

Anyway, this summer will be the first time we are going out east with a baby in tow, so I'm guessing it will be more beach relaxation and dinner and not so much partying. But that's totally ok with me, everyday with my two loves is the best day ever. Now I just have to figure out what to bring. I know champagne and wine for sure, since we will swing by the polo game after the beach on Saturday. I know they have supermarkets out east too, but I rather get everything before hand so I can just chill out when we get there.

Hasta Manana my dear readers.

Bad Luck, Good Luck

Just came back from Bloomingdales, returning my turquoise birthday Marc Jacobs bag. I couldn't believe it when the dye of the bag had rubbed off on one of my white dresses. Shouldn't the bag be color proof?! Luckily they took it back without any problem. I love great customer service. I had even prepared a whole argument in case they would give me a hard time.

At least I got to have a fun new bag for six weeks before returning it, and now I can pick out a new bag to replace it. And, of course, I have already found it =) The Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2010 bag collection has this amazing satchel that I want, want, want! And it has the cutest polka dot lining. (Silly, really, how obsessed I can get with a pocket book.)

They are just available for pre-order right now, shipping in September I think. Now I just have to decide if I should go for the classic black or the little more fun, forrest green. What do you guys think? Green or black?

Handbag of the Day: Jimmy Choo Brix Bag

A bag with a wild attitude. Leopard printed pony skin with chrome buckles.

Florals from Johnny Was

As pretty as they get. Summer dresses in florals.

Rich People Never Pay Retail

Today's bargain—five really cute outfits for Campbell from Baby Gap. They have tons of stuff on clearance in the stores, so stop by and check it out. I got two amazing pairs of skinny jeans—white and dark wash—a dress, some pants and tops. Best part, all of it only set me back $30.00! I can't wait for her to be able to start wearing it.

Celebrity Fashion: Celine T-shirt Dress

Katie Holmes wore this amazing striped t-shirt dress from Celine at the premier of The Extra Man. Even if it was a little to casual for a red carpet event, this dress is adorable. You can get it at Browns Fashion, but it retails for a whopping $840—ridiculous for just a t-shirt dress. I think I'll stick to the navy and white version from alloy.com for $37. It's just as cute!

A Day at the Pool

Crazy Colors

Just got a pedicure and I found this new polish color from Color Club—Age of Aquarius. Totally cute.

Antropologie Hello Sunday Blazer

Black and white blazer from Anthropologie. Hopefully this looks as cute on as it does in the picture. Plus, I'm a sucker for details—especially the hook and eye closure in the front.

My Three Loves

A Happy Threesome—Rich, Campbell and Abby

Me and Campbell on the couch tonight.

The Maidstone, East Hampton

This is where I want to stay this summer!

Swedish hotelier Jenny Ljungberg has taken over the historic Maidstone Inn in East Hampton and renovated it with Scandinavian flair. It's like a little bit of Sweden right here on Long Island—I love it! As a fellow Swede, it makes my heart sing.

Plus, the hotel restaurant, The Living Room, looks fab. Tons of yummy dishes incorporating Swedish and American cuisine.

The only drawback is that the cheapest room is $495.00 a night during the summer season. Not sure that fits my current budget, but I can continue to dream right.
