Things that Make Me Go Lala: Denim Jackets

I've been totally obsessed with cropped distressed denim jackets lately. I have so far used my old one that I got 15 years ago (yeah, I save clothes for a long time), but I just found one from Gap that I love! Perfectly fitted and distressed. Soft enough to be comfy, but stiff enough to have some structure. And it was a total bargain too. This will be so cute with a flowy summer dress or with one of my mini skirts and tights this fall.

Fridge Essentials

Since we are a little bit of champagne addicts, I just wanted to recommend a new brand on the market. The brand is not necessarily new, but Dumont Champagne is trying to break into the U.S. market here, so you can get a great champagne from them for less than $30.00.

I would say that it's very similar to Veuve Clicquot in quality—but about $15.00 less a bottle! So far we have only tried the R Dumont & Fils Brut and it was excellent, but I heard that the rosé is fantastic as well.

U.S. OPEN 2010

Just scored tickets to this year's U.S. OPEN in Flushing. We try to go every year as a summer grand finale. Last year we got day time tickets and it was so hot that we could barely enjoy the game. This year we decided to go for an evening session, and make it a Saturday night so we don't have to get up for work the next day. To sweeten the deal, we got court-side tickets! Thank god for Amex!

If you are a Cardmember, call Amex to get tickets. You can also try ticketmaster.com, but I'm not sure if there are any tickets left.

Today's Outfit

Since I have been home with the baby this summer, I haven't really dressed up at all. Well, regrettable, soon I'll be back in the city and dressing up for work, so I can start posting some outfits again. Have decided to give my hair a break from highlights until I'm heading back to work. Plus, this will save me some money =)

Hair Trial and Error

I have been abusing my hair for years. Multiple layers of bleached highlights, curling irons, flat irons. You name it, I have done it. To try to repair the damage, I think I've bought every product under the sun and nothing seemed to help my poor hair. Frizz, breakage and severe damage.

Of few months ago, my friend Iva told me to use Nexxus products, especially Emergencee.She swore by their stuff. I have to agree with her—I think these have been the best products ever. My hair has actually start showing some signs of improvement. The shine is finally coming back. Of course, a cut every 8 weeks helps too =)

This is the regiment I swear by.

1. Nexxus Therappe Shampoo. I wash my hair only twice a week, but I rinse and condition every day.

2. Nexxus Emergencee treatment. I use it every two weeks.

3. Nexxus Therappe Shampoo. A second wash if you used the Emergencee treatment.

4. Nexxus Humectress Conditioner (let it stay in your hair for at least 2 minutes)

5. L'anza Trauma Treatment Leave in conditioner.

You can get the Nexxus products in any drugstore that carry salon brands, but the L'anza you have to get at your salon or online. I get the 1 liter bottles at amazon.com for an amazing deal with free shipping.

Our House. In the Middle of the Street

It's cause for celebration! Managed to finish up the house with 8 minutes to spare. A little to close for comfort for me, but now it's finally done and over with. Below some photos of the house before the realtor showed up to assess it. (Click on the images to see a larger version)

The market is so bad now that I think we will just rent it out if we can, not sell. Besides I like this house way to much to get rid of it! Now we just need to get going on finishing the basement—that would increase the rent a bit.
