Happy Easter

17 people, 12 home cooked dishes, 2 Gallons of Sangria and 6 bottles of wine later, and I'm totally wiped. Entertaining is exhausting. Had a wonderful Easter but it was cold! We still braved the cold and after brunch we bundled up in blankets and set a huge fire to warm us up. Luckily next year, easter is a full three weeks later and hopefully much warmer.

With sleeping beauty snoring away in her bed, I have tucked myself in a hot bubble bath to relax before starting another work week tomorrow. I would give a million dollars to be off! All I'm dreaming of right now is slipping under the sheets and drift asleep.

xoxo.

A Sweet Bunny

Last day before a long Easter weekend. Whoo hop! I can barely make it another couple of hours. Two days of more spring cleaning, lots of cooking and a couple of naps I hope, and then full swing on Easter Sunday.

Since we are just a couple of days away from Easter, I just had to post this super sweet little jacket. How adorable wouldn't that be for the egg hunt?

Spring Cleaning

Rush, rush, rush. Only another week until Easter and we are on full speed ahead to get the house all cleaned up , and of course all the food prepared. Super exited to try a new recipe for a quinoa super foods salad with grilled shrimp this year. Yum, yum! And of course, Mimosas, Bloody Marys, french toast, quiches, the list goes on...

Trying to get motivated by playing Mumford & Sons. Cami spending the day with grandma, so we better make this count. Cleaning today, Costco tomorrow, and then cooking on Friday and Saturday.

This year we are going to be 16 people—I'm still wondering how we are going to fit everyone! It will be standing room only. And since Easter is so early this year, we probably don't get to sit outside. Mehh.

Missing Sam this year. Please come home from Australia soon!

Circus :: Circus

Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!!

I must admit, I haven't been to a circus for probably 30 years. I remember growing up in Sweden, the traveling circus came to town once a year. A big traditional red and white giant circus tent set up on some open field on the outskirts of town. Straw and saw dust on the floor. Bench seating and cups of pop corn. Afterwards you could just go outside to pet the animals. It was really nice.

Even if this wasn't the old fashioned circus I was used to, it was so much fun—especially seeing Cami really loving it. By fluke we got awesome seats too—totally unplanned. And the best part, almost no clowns...cause I really really dislike clowns. Creepy an dnot funny at all. We'll definitely have to go back next year.

Sneak Peek

Paint is from Behrs and is called Elephant Skin. I absolutely adore it. More to come another day...

Sweet dreams.

Last Snow over New York

It's past midnight and I finally put the finishing touches on my 48 slide presentation to the CMO for tomorrow. I am so sleepy—thank god it's weekend after tomorrow—I have to get some rest so I'm coherent when I wake up!

Looking forward to St. Patrick's Day parade in Huntington on Sunday. It's hard to believe looking outside right now, that on Sunday it's going to be 55 F. I am so ready to be done and over with the winter this year.

Just fired off a couple of shots of the new dining room wall color...coming up next.

Arts & Crafts

Pardon the couple of days of radio silence. We have been so busy playing musical chairs with our furniture, that I haven’t had a minute to update you on what we are doing. As you know we finished our whole basement remodel at the end of last year, and we have been spending the last few weeks repainting the whole house, moving furniture around and chucking more stuff.

My dream of a personal home office/craft area has finally come true, so I have been busy planning and sketching to make it just perfect. Of course, it’s a pretty small area, but still, I take what I can get. My sewing machine, laptop and printer, and all sorts of little notions is finally finding a home.

I found this lovely custom printed wallpaper fromSpoonflower that I’m making an accent wall from. And I absolutely adore natural sheepskin, so I’m covering Rich’s parents old 1960s bar stools in it. It’s going to be so cozy. Still on the hunt for something soft under foot. Since it’s basement level, we had to use laminate, and although I picked out this amazing weathered, pickled dark flooring, I need a nice comfy rug. Any suggestions?
