The Oscars: 5 Good & 5 Bad

Alright, here are my two cents for what it's worth.

The Good:

Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein

Hilary Swank in Gucci

Amy Adams in L'Wren Scott (I know some people hated it, but I actually loved the jade jewelry with the deep purple dress)

Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein

Mila Kunis in Elie Saab

The Bad:

Helena Bonham-Carter in Coleen Atwood (repeat offender!)

Marissa Tomei in Charles James

Melissa Leo in Marc Bouwer (one giant doily)

Cate Blanchet in Givenchy (This just looks like weird sea-creature inspired picture frame on her chest—Ewww)

Nicole Kidman in Dior

It's a Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Rainjacket

I'm in love with her crazy stand-up curl bed head!

Obsession: Fixies

I keep on telling myself that I really, really need one of these fixed gear bikes. Found this website, bigshotbikes.com, where you can completely customize the color of every singe item on the bike. I could play around with this for hours, coming up with better and better color combinations!

Erdem @ London FW 2011

Last stop of the fashion world tour. Erdem Fall 2011 RTW @ London Fashion Week 2011. Long flowy dresses in chiffon and beautifully tailored sheath dresses with deep cut necklines makes me wanna go la la!

I think that's a FW wrap for this year. Can't wait to actually start focusing on some 2011 Spring fashions!

Wroom, Wroom

I feel like such an adult today—I finally signed the paperwork for my very first own new car. I know, unbelievable! Well, I guess better late than never. Picking up my brand new 2011 Honda Crosstour on Saturday—I can't wait. Totally crazy about it! Now I just have to figure out a good weekend outing to test it out.

We have driven around with a two-door car for the past nine months, trying to maneuver the car seat with the baby in and out every day—enough to drive anyone crazy. I was just totally over it. I had very few requirements for the new car—big engine (I have a notorious led foot) and four doors (it had to be cute too, of course). I think I can put a check-mark next to all of them!

In the head of Alber Elbaz

I can't wait for these looks this season from Lanvin's Spring 2011 RTW collection. (I noticed that Blake Lively already wore the first one at the 2010 Spike Scream Awards. I'll happily live vicariously through celebrities when it comes to high fashion, but I would die for that red dress!)

Gucci Fall 2011 from Milan

Hands down the best collection so far this season—Gucci's 90th Anniversary show in Milan today. Amazing ultra feminine draped dresses in yards and yards of sheer chiffon; jewel toned wool and fur; silky blouses with knee-high boots a la 70s glamour. Best I have seen so far from Frida Giannini—amazing!

Obsession: Tonal Stripe Top

How pretty isn't this silky top from GAP?! I can totally see why it's sold out online—in every single size.

But I know for a fact that it's still available in the 5th Ave. store in Flatiron. (Best part, I got a pair of pants for work there today, and they gave this top to me for free!)

Ladylike

A little girl with impeccable table manners.

I Made This!

I absolutely love three day weekends—you can get all your stuff done and relax without rushing around like a crazy person. I can't believe that we managed to squeeze in dry walling, painting, cleaning, and laundry—plus a movie day and impromptu family dinner—in just three days. All while taking also playing with Campbell! Pretty impressive, don't you agree? (Not that it happen very often, but I actually managed to do more things then I first had planned. I usually have a "to do" list of thirty things, and only three get knocked off the list.)

And I just have to be a little bit of a braggart today. Take a look at the photo above—one of this weekend's projects. I actually made this cabinet single handedly from four planks and an old basement window! (I'm actually a little surprised myself) And I also painted new chalkboard wall for Campbell to draw on. I feel super accomplished.

Best Bargain Dress: Ikat Stripe T-shirt Dress

This is just THE best bargain dress ever! My size is sold out online, so I will be running to the mall first thing tomorrow morning to see if I can find it. Ann Taylor LOFT, $59.50, plus this weekend it's 25% off. I would say that's the best deal ever!

Smart Gear Balance Bike

I know it's a bit premature, but I am going absolutely nuts for these balance bikes from Smart Gear. So cute.

I guess we should probably get Campbell walking first (she is a fast learner!) , but who can resist this one. And it's so nice looking, I'll keep it in my living room as a decoration too. Two birds with one stone =)

Eames Molded Plastic Rocking Chair

Just got one of these Eames rockers for the house—a piece of mid-century design history. I think Design Within Reach makes some of the best reproductions of design classics—I could furnish my whole house from that place.

Well, since it was a little bit of an impulse purchase, now I just have to figure out where to put it. If we could just get the basement reno finished within some kind of manageable timeframe, we'll have all the space in the world—we'll be adding another 1,350 sq. feet to our living space. More closets, another bedroom, living room and bath, plus a mini kitchen area. I can't wait— finally we'll be able to spread out a little! (And it's a perfect excuse to get some new stuff too.)

NYFW: Bravo, 3.1!

3.1. Philip Lim's RTW Fall 2011 collection just simply stole my heart this week. Mixing leather, wool and silks; brights with neutrals—It all just spells love at first sight.

Must-Haves for a Summer at the Beach

A cute white lace dress for after the beach (there's nothing better than a great tan with a white dress!), cool top-siders for stepping around the yacht, and a perfectly sized bright leather satchel to keep all your stuff in (I carry around a lot of stuff. Hey, you never know when you are going to need a lint brush).
