Campbell's First Bath

Campbell was so good taking her first bath last night. No crying and no fussing. Her bellybutton stump still haven't come off, so for now we are relegated to sponge baths. We are just dying to give her a real bath in her new tub!

We are still trying to figure out whom she takes after, and I think the general consensus is that she definitely favors Rich. But she does have my toes =)

Crisscross tank from L.A.M.B

Still looking for some cute summer clothes that will disguise my belly while I work on losing the last 15 lbs of baby weight. Found this simple tank from l.a.m.b. that still have some interesting details. Absolutely love the crisscross back—makes your shoulders look amazing!

Happy Birthday My Love

Had such a crazy day today. Between our traditional birthday breakfast in bed, doctors appointments, cake baking, gardening and cleaning—I'm feeling exhausted! It seems like I have either nothing to do or my day is booked back-to-back. I'm, of course, also trying to fit in some tanning since I haven't been able to be in the sun that much for the past nine months.

But before I shut the lights off tonight, I just wanted to say happy birthday to my wonderful husband—celebrated with some Veuve and home made Oreo birthday cake.

And I have received complaints that I haven't posted any mommy and me pictures—but as you can see, Rich is not the best at taking pictures. Either I'm in the photo or Campbell, never really both of us =)

Cream Leather

I found a cream colored leather jacket from Juicy Couture a few weeks ago, but I couldn't get myself to spend close to $700 for a jacket, especially with the summer right around the corner.

But I think I have found a more budget conscience alternative from BB Dakota—and I think I like it even more than the other one. It also comes in black, but the cream beige version is just to die for. Soft washed leather with a perfectly girly cut. Delish.

On the Cheap: Raffia Clutch

Found this super cute raffia clutch from SR Squared by Sondra Roberts on piperlime.com. And it's only $45.00! I first thought it was a typo, but it's really the price. It would look so cute with any summer dress or a pair of jeans. And to make it even better, it comes with an optional shoulder strap to keep your hands free so you can hold your cocktail =)

Funny Face

The days are just flying by and I realized I haven't really posted an update for a few days now. Campbell is growing amazingly fast. We are due for a check up at the pediatrician tomorrow, so I guess we'll see then how much. She has started to make tons of funny expressions and faces, which makes her even more adorable.

Tomorrow is going to be a full day of errands and appointments, plus it's Rich's birthday so I have to make a cake and find a birthday gift for him. Now with Campbell here, my usual impeccable planning skills are out the door. Welcome to flying at the seat of my pants =)

And I have of course managed to misplace the camera—I know it's somewhere in the house...but where?? I have to find it so I can get some pictures at Rich's birthday shindig tomorrow.

Jennifer Zeuner Bracelets

Love these chunky bead bracelets from jewelry designer Jennifer Zeuner. Reminds me a little of the praying beads we bought on our honeymoon in Istanbul. Comes in several different colors and designs. Above: Set of 3 Jade bead bracelets with gold vermeil charms, $242; Ebony wood bead bracelet with gold vermeil hand, $209; Turquiose beads with sterling and diamond charm, $176.

Bargain Graphic Tees

I'm loving the graphic tee and school boy blazer look and for the past few days, I have been looking for some cool tees—especially in red. Found the most amazing collection at American Eagle Outfitters for only $10 each! They are so cheap, I think I'll even get a few of these.

A Viking Princess

...at least that's what her dad calls her. The most beautiful girl in the world.

Nine days since delivery and I have already lost 26 lbs (11.8 kg)—still another 18 lbs (8 kg) to go. (Breastfeeding is the way to go!) Have been trying to get into a healthy eating regiment already, since I'm not allowed to work out for 6 weeks after delivery. No more snacking! Can't wait to be back to my normal self again—planning on a huge shopping trip to reward myself after all the baby weight is gone.

Everything is going really, really well—except our girl is apparently a party girl and insists on being up around midnight with no intention of sleeping anytime soon. I'm already exhausted =) Thank god I don't have to work on top of this.

What I Want Now: Halston

This is my biggest temptation at the moment—a Halston Heritage V-neck Cocktail Dress (the dress that Sarah Jessica Parker wears in SATC 2.) So simple and beautiful.

Modern Family

While looking for baby stuff, we didn't realize how difficult it would be to find things that would look good in our place—we both love modern design. But I just found this website babyearth.com and they have really great stuff. I bought the coolest baby bouncer and mobile by Danish design company Flensted for my girl. And all orders over $49.00 ships free and since it's online—no sales tax. What can get better than that!?

Life is changed forever.

Campbell Kristina Arthur, born 5/13/10

Since I'm usually pretty good at updating my blog, as some of you may have suspected, I went into labor a week early. Last Thursday morning at 4 am it all began and, at 4 pm on the dot, our little baby girl Campbell was born. The most amazing and beautiful little thing I have ever seen. I am so in love with her that spending even a minute away from her seems like forever.

Well, out little girl wasn't so little—8 lbs 1 oz (3680 g) and 21 inches (53.5 cm) long. Labor and delivery was not as bad as I had expected, but I did opt for an epidural (I would highly recommend it.)

It's now been 6 days since her birth and we are starting to get in the groove. Rich who's usually not that into babies is changing diapers, cuddling and spoiling her rotten. He already has anxiety over going back to work tomorrow.

Everyone has been so nice sending baby gifts, fruit, flowers and tons of other stuff. We have all had a big debate last about "push presents"—I have never heard of it until last year! Apparently a girl is supposed to get a gift from her husband upon the birth of their baby, for going through the "agony" of labor. Kind of stupid I think—isn't the baby the greatest gift of all? However, I don't want to sound like a hypocrite—Rich did surprise me with a David Yurman bracelet at the hospital. Although, he was quick to point out that is was not a push present—just a little something to celebrate Campbell's birth.

Peplum Perfection from ModCloth

I love this summer BB Dakota dress from modcloth.com. The color is just amazing and it's 100% so it will be nice and cool for the summer. And it't just under $85!

1,000 Posts and Still Counting

Celebrating my 1,000th post today. Still just hanging around the house waiting for any kind of sign of labor, but so far nothing is going on. And to top it off, it's freezing cold, gray and rainy out. Nothing is working in my favor! LOL. This better not be the weather for the rest of the summer.

But now we actually know that it will be before next Friday for sure, since they will induce labor if she's not cooperating.

In the meantime, I guess I will just chill out around here...

Obsession: Ombre Flat-Pleat Mini

Love this banded mini from Express in black and various shades of gray. Perfect length for tan summer legs—not too short, not too long (16 inches)—just right.

Mazzy Flip-flops: Summer Best Buy

I live in flip-flops during the summers—leather, fabric, plastic—all kinds. Of course, some of them are not that nice looking. I just found a really affordable pair in leather from bananarepublic.com that are not just really cute, but they actually look super comfy. Overall, my feet are super sensitive and I always get blisters really easy, so comfort is key.

Currently they have black, brown and gold—but I think they will stock a few other colors this summer.

Sir Alistair Rai Masala Gauze Tank

Just scored such a beautiful summer top from Sir Alistar Rai. Best part, Haute Look's online sample sale were selling them for only $20.00 each. I absolutely love the grey and aqua color combination!

Now when I start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, I'm actually enjoying starting to look at clothes again—should be a good inspiration to loose this baby weight.

No Baby Yet

Last 10 days—gosh, I'm kind of over this. Our girl needs to be here now!

Went to the doctor's office today and there's a 50% chance I'll go into labor this week. If she's not here by Monday, they'll induce labor. I'm currently 3.5 cm dilated—the same amount as a woman that has already had 3-4 kids. (I promise, this is my first!) And since they estimate her weight to be 8.5 lbs already, they think we should get this party started soon. And believe me, I'll all for that. I'm wobbling around the house bored out of my mind.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy birthday to my mom—the best mom ever. Love you more than words can say. See you in just a few weeks =)

And, of course, Happy Cinco de Mayo! Yummy burritos and a little bit of Corona tonight to celebrate Mexico's Independence. Arriba, arriba!

37 Weeks and 4 days

Haven't posted a belly photo in a little while now. Today I'm 37 weeks and 4 days. This may be one of the very last belly photos. Plus 40 lbs (18 kg) from pre-pregnancy. Oh boy! Feeling really good so far. The heartburn is gone, my complexion is clear and no more swollen feet. Plus, not a single stretch mark—I'm ecstatic!

We're almost there.

The Met Gala: Red Carpet Hotties

Four favorites from last night's Met Gala.
