Lunch with a View

Didn't get to run out for lunch until almost three o'clock to day, but who cares when this is your view. Hot like a sauna today, almost 95F. Sizzling.

Lines are already forming outside Eataly for the opening in 25 minutes. I think I'll just wait until the mad-opening hours are over.

Can't wait to run home tonight. Missing Campbell like crazy. Date night on Saturday at the US OPEN—hopefully it will be a little cooler by then or we will melt away.

Neighborhood Buzz: Eataly Opening Today

This is going to be the most amazing Italian extravaganza ever.

I've been passing by this location for the past 7 months now and today Eataly finally opening (I heard that it will open at 4:00 pm and I think it will be madness). Mario Batali, Oscar Farinetti, Joe Bastianich and Lidia Matticchico's have teamed up to open up this tribute to Italian food which will be located in the old Toy Building 24th street and 5th Avenue.

The 50,000 sqf space will house multiple restaurants, and will both sell and serve Italian specialty foods, coffee, cheeses, veggies, fish, meats, pastries and gelato. They will even have an on-site travel agent organizing trips and wine tours to Italy, as well as a wine merchant.

Plus, all customers will also have access to their roof top beer garden with a view of MSq Park (you will be able to sit down and eat your purchased lunch there).

This place is going to be amazing. They best of all, it's just around the corner from my job!

New: Vena Cava for Aqua

Just launched today—Vena Cava for Aqua sold exclusively at Bloomingdales. Amazing dresses, skirts and tops. I'm totally in love with the beautifully draped dresses and graphic prints. These three pieces are my absolute fave picks. Maybe at least one of these will make their way into my closet this fall...

The Moon and Jupiter

Yup, that tiny speck below the moon is Jupiter!
I know it doesn't look like much on the photo,
but it was really amazing to witness.

I forgot to mention this amazing event from Thursday night. The moon and Jupiter were aligned and could be seen perfectly around 12:30 am in New York. This will only happen once in our lifetime, so we just had to stay up to check it out. It looked like we had a second small moon, but in actuality it was Jupiter making an appearance. With binoculars we could even see some of its nine moons! Even if we were exhausted, it was totally worth it.

Cute as a Button

Spoiled Rotten

...no, not me. Campbell is. Got tons of really cute gifts from Sweden again. Thank you all for all the amazing stuff! Got to take a walk down memory lane this weekend when Campbell got a "Little Anna" doll (see pic above). I used to love those books when I was a little kid in Sweden. Of course, being named Anna made it even better. (I used to think those were stories about me!)

We had a busy weekend again. I don't understand how that can be!? Mom and Stig are here visiting, and of course helping out, but still it seemed to be Sunday night way too fast again. I should have had plenty of time updating the blog, but it simply didn't happen.

I have tons of photos to share from the last few days. I'll try to post them in a bit. Otherwise I have to start getting ready for bed soon. It's past eleven and I have to get up with mini at 5:30...

My first taste of watermelon. I love it.

Cutest Little Booties Around

How sweet aren't these little baby booties from Hermes. To die for. Too bad they can only be worn a few times since those little munchkins grow out of them in a few weeks.

Mulberry for Target

I think this is one of the most exciting brand collaborations of this year. British design house Mulberry is teaming up with Target for a bag collection releasing October 10, 2010. The collection will contain eight handbag styles in materials like denim and velvet.

Not sure what the products will look like in reality (tons of these special collections end up looking really cheap), but the preview makes them look kind of cute. I would, however, remove that ugly heart-shaped key chain thing).

Allen Ave. Stuffed Animals

These funky stuffed animals just makes me want to be a kid again. I guess those fabrics remind me of my childhood in the late 70s. Maybe Campbell would like that cute elephant...

Best Long V-neck Cardigan

This cardigan was my best purchase last year (I got the summer version in silk instead of the merino woo)l.

Length and cut is just perfect, and it goes with absolutely everything and anything. I think I wear my cream colored one at least once a week (it has seen better days).

Probably time to replace it soon.

Classic and Beautiful: Lace Top

I'm not usually a fan of lace, but this cropped top from Joie is just so cute. Together with the cropped pants, it's totally 1960's Audrey Hepburn.

While You Were Sleeping

Who needs a guard dog when you can have a guard kitty?

Best friends always watch out for each other...especially when taking a nap together.

Ooops, I did it again!

Dream Home

I want one of these houses. A German pre-fab designed Huf Haus. If I only had a perfect piece of land this the house I would put on it. Exquisitely modern, nice lines and tons of windows. Not one of those ordinary American ugly houses. I think the starting prices are around $550,000, but goes up to $3,000,000 for a really large, high-tech house.

Summertime

Thank god I just had a summer Friday and left at 1 pm. I'm living in complete chaos. No, not at work, but at home. The house is such a mess. We are still trying to figure out a routine now when I am back at work. There are simple not enough hours in the evening to get everything done, so somethings gotta' give. In our case, it's been the straightening up. This place is a mess. And I have to get the laundry done or we have to go naked. I just have to make it one more week. Mom, come help!

Once the baby is fed, I have to roll up my sleeves and dig in

Love at First Sight: Celina Platform Pump

I think I'm in love! These dark red suede heels are amazing. I just have to have them...the problem—they are 295 buckaroos. They would be perfect with my new leather jacket and skinny jeans. But...since I just started to work again, I'm not sure if they are in the budget right now. I have promised myself that if they are still around in another month or so, I will treat myself.

Period.

Living the Life of Riley

This is what I do when mommy goes to work. Hanging out with grandma and grandpa on the boat—it's a hard life!

CND Shellac Nail Polish

I heard about this a few months ago, but I'm yet to try it. This new hybrid nail polish is a mix between a gel manicure and a regular one. It's a little more expensive, but it lasts for over two weeks! NO chipping, smudging or breaking. Plus, there's no drying time—perfect for me since I hate sitting in the dryer. It supposedly makes your nails really strong and it's gentle too.

The only draw back is the limited number of colors, but I read on their web site that you can layer colors to create new shades.

I'm totally sold on this. Next time I'll bit the bullet and just go for it.

If I had...

...a hundred and sixty bucks laying around, I would get Campbell one of these =)

Essie: Little Brown Dress

I can't wait for this color to hit the shelves this fall. Yummy chocolate brown.

Today's Outfit

Simplicity.

I guess this is my version of Jennifer Aniston's boyfriend khakis/tank look. I wear regular khakis instead of the boyfriend fit. I can't really pull off boyfriend pants—it just makes me look huge! Best part, I already had all these rags in my closet from years ago. Thank god I finally got myself a hair appointment. My roots are now so long that it almost look like I have dark hair in this photo!

Hard Candy

Just treated myself to a pedicure to make it a little more bearable to be away form my baby. Decided to just go for a classic bright red—my toe nails now look like 10 red little Jolly Ranchers. Yummy! Makes me feel like getting some candy...

Amazing [and creative] Baby Photos

This will be a re-blog from A Beautiful Mess and Modern Kiddo (and of course Mila's Daydreams). These baby shots are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I feel tempted to run home and recreate some of these with our little girl.

Just a few Blog shout-outs...

Stockholm Fashion Week: Filippa K

I'm just in love with Swedish design company Filippa K's collection from this weeks fashion show Stockholm. Loose fitting silk rompers, draped skirts and dresses, sparkly tops with black tights, chunky knitted cardis—all super wearable and flattering on the feminine shape. This is probably as much me as it will get.

You guys just have to check out the full collection on their website—the new Lookbook for the collection is already posted
