KaufmanFranco Fall 2011

Amazing Fall collection from KaufmanFranco. Simple but beautiful designs—great inspiration for fall. (That black backless dress is just to die for!)

Hurricane Wedding

Trying to catch up on the events of the last few days. Despite hurricane Irene hitting us on Saturday night, we decided to head out to North Fork Long Island for Jeanette and Steve's wedding at Laurel Lake Vineyard.

I'm so glad we went—a lot of people had decided to cancel last minute and I felt really bad when I saw the empty chairs! But we had such a great time. Gorgeous bride, beautiful setting out in wine country, good food and an endless supply of wine! Plus what's better than a wedding of people that are crazy in love.

I know they had warned about wild weather hitting NOFO in the early evening, it was just a light drizzle and no wind at all—we even had cocktails and dinner on the large veranda. It was like the weather gods were looking out for all of us, giving us just a little break before all the craziness was brought on.

Again, congratulations Jeanette and Steve! We love you and wish you an eternity of happiness.

Beach Day

With hurricane Irene just wrapped up, I'm trying to remember this beautiful day at the beach last weekend. After a flooded basement, a few downed trees and some power black outs, we should be back in the swing tomorrow morning. The LIRR is supposed to be up and running by tomorrow morning, so we'll see how the morning commute will go. In the meantime, I'll daydream about beautiful beach days.

I'm Still Standing

Looking at this picture, I can't believe that in a little over 24 hours a hurricane will be hitting New York! Unbelievable that we have had an earthquake and now a hurricane hitting New York City--all in one week. (OK, fine, the earthquake was more like a tremor, but still!!)

Have been getting supplies all day. Duct tape, tarps, water, cereal, hundreds of tea candles and batteries. I hope we will be OK riding this one out. We are in flood areas after all! And the eye of the storm is currently projecting to pass right over our house in Cold Spring Terrace so we will be a busy night tonight--everything needs to be anchored down. The craziest part is that we are heading out to a wine country wedding on the North Fork of Long Island tomorrow night. Perfect timing for the storm...that should be one that goes down in memories.

Happy Aviation Day!

Perfect time to look around for a new pair of aviator sunglasses. My old Ray-Bans are getting quite banged up—I have a huge scratch across one of the lenses! I have gotten kind of used to nicks, stains and scratches on all my stuff. I guess that's what can be expected with a curious little critter like Cami—she checks everything out and, of course, not in a gentle manner either!

(Note to self: don't bother getting anything too expensive for the next few years)

I found these aviator sunglasses from Juicy Couture that I really, really like. I'm a huge fan of the gold and brown lenses, that makes anyone's face look much softer.

Dreamy Oxfords

I can't stop shopping for high-heeled Oxfords for this fall, especially in this cognac tan color. I think these from Boutique 9 are absolutely fab, and at $150 they won't break the bank either! (Plus, that chunky stacked heel looks pretty comfy to run around with.)

Theyskens' Theory

I think I'm in love.

Anxiety Girl—my hero

I finally found a super hero to identify with!!

Hipster Baby

I never get sick of taking pictures of Campbell. Once in a while I go through my photo archive just to compare what she looks like now and then. It's funny how pictures just from a few months ago feels like a whole life time. It almost freaks me out a bit how fast the time goes with her in our lives. She's already fifteen months and it feels like it was yesterday she was born. I guess night time makes me a little nostalgic. Anyway, picture from last night's dance party trying out dad's new Urbanear headphones.

True Magic

Cami's nightly habit of trying on our shoes. That little girl just makes me giggle every day, even a crummy day at work can seem far far away when you have a little sunshine like her!

Getting Satisfaction

Finally got over to the tennis courts this past Saturday. I haven't picked up a racquet for several of years so I was a little nervous how it would go, but it went so amazingly well. I couldn't believe it—just like riding a bike—it all comes back to you really quickly again.

Plus, I got to try out my new tennis dress. I realized that i should probably have bought some short shorts to wear under it, because that skirt felt real short running around on the court! I was probably flashing my tush to half the town =)

Red Hot in DKNY

Totally hot skinny pants from DKNY--sold out in almost all sizes, but I have managed to locate a pair in my size out in Las Vegas. They are just to die for--I\'m obsessed with both the color, the reinforced knees and the zippers. It's the perfect pant! I'm thinking maybe with my blue school boy blazer, or my leather biker jacket, or maybe even with my jeans jacket. Hmmm, I have already pieced together tons of outfits! Despite the crazy color, I think these could easily be a go-to item in my closet this fall.

Ankle Length Skinny Pant in Cherry Red, $225.00 @ DKNY.com
