Wednesday Inspiration: Neon

I know it's close to the end of summer, but this amazing color combination from Nanette Lepore's RTW 2012 Collection is just to yummy to pass up.

Back in the New York Groove Again

I can't believe I'm back at work again—I have already start planning the next vacation in my head! Maybe a long weekend at Mohonk Mountain Resort upstate, or maybe the Maidstone Inn in East Hampton this fall? The Hamptons is so much more relaxed in the fall when there is less traffic and less people.

Getting out east took over two and a half hours on Saturday. Every time we head out, I forget how congested it gets once you hit 27. Snail pace. Way too long to sit in a car with a two year old, and so frustrating when you are antsy to get somewhere! There is something to be said for staying in Southampton or Hampton Bays. So much easier [and faster] to get to.

But I shouldn't complain, it was well worth it. It was so relaxing that we didn't even left the resort once! Between the beach, sipping wine on the patio, and of course whipping up stuff to eat, we had enough to keep us busy for these past few days.

Just starting to go through the 600 photos we took, I am sometimes a little overzealous with the camera...

Gidget

Still out east in Montauk for an extended weekend get away—sadly it will all come to an end after tomorrow. But no crying here, we are having such a great time, no matter how short of a vacation! in the meantime, here are a few pictures we managed to squeeze off yesterday and earlier today.

Thank god, only sunshine so far, but wicked waves.

Sideways on Long Island

Summer isn't over yet—barrel tasting at Raphael Wineries today. Wine, Cheese and good friends—and of course, lobster roll lunch and some amazing rhubarb squares from Briermere Farms.

Now I just wish I didn't have to head back to work tomorrow—but only five more days until Montauk. My boogie board and rash guard are already packed. The final countdown has begun!

It's amazing how things have changed in just a couple of years.

They are finally here! My new specs from Ray Ban Optical—New Wayfarer in Dark Havana. I haven't worn glasses outside the house for over 10 years. Yikes. That's a long time to survive on only contacts! What do you guys think?

I got a great deal online at myglasses.com—just submit your prescription from your eye doctor.

Love in a Little Perfect Bag

Thanks C.L. for the photo!

Holiday Road

Just another couple weeks until we head out to Montauk for a little mini vacation. We booked this really cute place right on the beach half way between Montauk and East Hampton. No driving necessary—just roll out of bed and skip down to the beach. I did scout out a really cute place if we feel like venturing out for dinner and drinks night called Rushmeyer's. It’s right on Fort Pond between the Atlantic and the Peconic, a little more low-key than Surf Lodge, and perfectly kid friendly.  (I heard they have all these little tents outside that kids can play in. I think Cami will love it. )

Really excited to bring by boogie board too. I haven’t surfed since the summer before having Cami, and I’m dying to get back in the waves. I just have to stay clear of sharks (I’ve heard they prowl the coast) and the rip tides.
