I think 90% of the stuff in my house must be from IKEA—bookshelves, dressers, pillows...pretty much everything. It's not just because it's cheap, but I really love Scandinavian Design, something that is not easy to find in the US. I don't know anything worse than oversized sofas, heavy drapery, ornately carved dining room furniture.
Since I have been relegated to only shop at a handful of stores, you can guess my delight when I found this online store today—it's called Huset (Swedish for The House). Based in Santa Monica, CA they have the most amazing selection of Scandinavian home goods, clothing, nick-nack and kids' stuff. I can't wait to place my first order.
