Crazy Weather
This is how it looked within the span of 15 minutes. Peace out everyone. Going home to toast my anniversary with champagne. See you all tomorrow. Good night!
I'm a Bagoholic and I know it
Went shopping at Saks this past weekend and found such a beautiful black bag from Botkier. Italian cowhide and lambskin. I just bought a L.A.M.B bag and another pair of Seven jeans so my monthly shopping budget is depleted, but oh' boy was I tempted. A girl can't have too many bags or pairs of shoes, right?!
Clyde in black leather and gold studs.
Blond for the Non-blond
Two more days to go before a long weekend. So psyched. After this weekend, just one more week of work before vacation. I can make it, I can make it...I think I can.
Managed to get a last minute hair appointment for Friday. I seriously don't know what's wrong with my hair but I think it has started to look yellow. Not good! I hope they can fix it. I found this photo of Sienna Miller where she has the most perfect shade of blond I could ever imagine. Replicate on my hair, please.
I'm hoping the weather will hold for the weekend. I would love to make another trip to the beach on Saturday to touch up my tan for the big day on Sunday—Laurie and Heskell's wedding!
Anniversary
I'll borrow the words from Anne Bradstreet today.
To My Dear and Loving Husband
If ever two were one, then surely we.
If ever man were loved by wife, then thee;
If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare with me, ye women, if you can.
I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee, give recompense.
Thy love is such I can no way repay,
The heavens reward thee manifold, I pray.
Then while we live, in love let's so persevere
That when we live no more, we may live ever

Dolphins spotted off Long Island
This is the most amazing sighting this weekend—I am so sorry I missed it. Dophins right off the shore in Cold Spring Harbor, close to where I live. I, like probably most other people, love dolphins, but I have only seen them in the wild when I stayed in Santa Barbara, CA.
Go to NY Magazine for the full story.
Pool day with Jay-Z
...the dog, that is, not the rapper. He is so annoying around the pool. I think he wants to jump in to join the fun, but he's too chicken. His solution is to run around the pool barking until you come up and play with him. He is so retarded ... or maybe I am, because I am doing what a dog wants me to do! However, after all is said and done, I still love that dog.
Walking on Sunshine
Saturday on the beach was absolutely amazing! Perfect temperature, nice breeze without being too windy. The biggest drawback was the rough surf. I love surfing but it gets to a point when the under toe is so bad that it's scary—that's unfortunately how it was Saturday.
Actually there was one more annoying thing—people's complete inability to assess an appropriate amount of personal space between towels. Hello, why do you all have to put your blanket a foot away from me when there is a whole empty beach?! It's so annoying, especially when they are loudmouths and smokers (Sorry people, I hate smokers. Yuck!)
Sample Sale for L.A.M.B
As some of you know, I have been looking for a new brown bag. I found this bag at an online sample sale from L.A.M.B, the brand created by Queen of Cool—Gwen Stefani. Although I was first looking for something more timeless, this bag is just too great to pass on. I love the banded detail in the middle.
Originally $495, at the sample sale for $181.

Anthony and the Johnsons
This is just such a beautiful song. Amazing voice.
River of Sorrows by Anthony and the Johnsons
All set for Father's Day Brunch
Walking a fine line between weekend casual and appropriate family occasion attire. I was laughing a little at this photo because the yellow headband makes my hair look yellow. LOL.
Jeans, 7 for all Mankind; Pink wrap-sweater, GAP; White tank, H&M; Yellow clutch, L.A.M.B; Yellow headband, J Crew; Heels, Nine West.
About last night...
Went out with Sam and Chris last night to properly celebrate Sam's high school graduation. As we were sitting there, the news about Michael Jackson's death broke. I actually first thought it was someone joking around, since we were just talking about urban legends about weird illnesses and strange rashes. I was watching the news this morning and people were crying and getting hysterical over his death. So strange. How can you be that upset when you don't even know them. Rumor this morning is that MJ actually died from OD on the drug Demerol (like morphine), but I guess we'll se once the autopsy takes place.
Kind of an odd day with both Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett dying.
Still had tons of fun. Finally got to stop by the new park they made from the old elevated train tracks. Great view over the Hudson. And a late night visit to Billy's bakery was for sure in order. Yummy cupcakes.

Today's Outfit
Anyone seen this jacket?
I was leafing through the July issue of Glamour magazine at the nail salon today and I noticed this awesome jacket. It looks a little bit like a discreet version of Beyoncé's $12,000 Balmain jacket.
It said that it was from Banana Republic, but I can't find it. I don't know if it is sold out or has not yet arrived, but I want it so badly!
Where to find a nice brown bag?
Looking for a new brown bag. Something that I can have this summer, but continue to wear into the fall. It can't be too big, or too small, and I need handles that are long enough to carry it over my shoulder. Sounds easy enough, but it's actually hared to find than I thought. I am super picky with the finish and color of brown leather.
I saw a nice bag in the J Crew catalogue, but when I saw it in the store it was kind of stiff and big. It looked like I was carrying around a big bucket. Anyway, I found this from the Sak today, and it's only $199. Pretty cheap for a leather bag, I think. And the leather is nice too. What do you guys think?

Beach day? For realsies?
Consignment Shop from your Desk
I found this website today and I thought it is such a brilliant idea.
Resale-Riches helps you unload your old designer goods, or you can browse their website and shop the consignment offerings of others. best part, they only accept good stuff—no more unpleasant surprises when you receive your Ebay win in the mail. Been there, done that. I admit I haven't bought or sold anything from them yet, but this is a sure "stop by" before you go shopping at Barney's.
Don't know if I should be sad or repulsed?
I after clicking around on the TV last night, I ended up on Bravo's new show NYC Prep. I guess they are really milking the whole Gossip Girl phenomenon. I'm not sure why I decided to continue watching, cause oh my god! I had a strong desire to slap them all. Little snot rags that have no idea what they are talking about. Arrogant, self-important, losers that think they have the best life ever. Of course, little do they know that their parents don't give 2 cents about them. I mean, what parent would let their kids sign up to be on a show like that!?
I especially loath that kid PC. He is such a jerk—and her really thinks he's all that! And that girl Jessie. She wants to work in fashion—but she can't pick an outfit herself and needs a personal shopper at Barney's. Don't you need to know good fashion and how to pick it in order to work in it. Plus, she is obviously still in love with that kid PC even if she insists that they are just friends.
Silly, really. I'm getting myself all worked up over a stupid show. I just hate that these kids are soon going to be adults that I have to contend with in the city. Ugh!

Take me to the moon
Midsummer Eve
I was actually born on Midsummer Eve of all days, so every seventh year my birthday falls on this day too. We had first made plans to go to the Swedish midsummer celebration, but since the weather was going to be crummy, we stayed in for dinner instead. Of course in the end, the sun came out and the weather turned fab, but too late! Those weather guys are the worst. Can 't even predict the weather for the coming day.
Anyway, dinner in with steak, herb roasted potatoes, and arugula salad. Yum. Desert with pastries and champagne to celebrate. I was in heaven.
Birthday Lunch with Laurie
I think I must be a blessed child. The weather on Friday turned miraculously to become a beautiful sunny birthday for me. Since I had the day off, I decided to have a boozy lunch with Laurie. Cobb salad and Sangria in the outdoor courtyard at Graffiti. Birthday lunch outfit: Purple linen dress from GAP and heels.

Hallelujah
Just got some feedback from my client on the creative presentation I had yesterday—and they loved everything! That was such a great surprise. Good time to wrap up for the day and start the birthday weekend festivities. Now if I could only get these 40 days of rain to stop, everything would be just super.
As I celebrate the end of my 33 year, I'll treat you to my all time favorite song—Hallelujah with Jeff Buckley (written by Leonard Cohen). Gives me goosebumps. The most beautiful song in the world.
A Reason to Believe
If I listened long enough to you
I'd find a way to believe that it's all true
Knowing that you lied straight-faced while I cried
Still I look to find a reason to believe
Someone like you makes it hard to live without
Somebody else
Someone like you makes it easy to give
Never think about myself
If I gave you time to change my mind
I'd find a way just to leave the past behind
Knowing that you lied straight-faced while I cried
Still I look for a reason to believe
Any recommendations for a waver?
Rained out birthday
I don't know what to do. I'm so disappointed. My original plan to go with all my friends to the Swedish Midsummer celebration in Battery Park for my birthday tomorrow is squashed. The rain is non-stop and it's cold. I hate it. When it's like this I just want to stay in and watch movies.
At least I have taken tomorrow off. Pampering time all day. Mani and Pedi, maybe even a facial. I just need a day to relax all by myself.
Maybe Saturday we'll go out in the city, but we'll see.

For you skinny girls
I love these shorts! Surprisingly they are from the GAP. Not sure they would look good on me though. I think you need to be really skinny for the pleats in the front. I think they are supercute! $49.50, gap.com.
Best jeans ever
Granted, I do like J Crew's denim, especially their Matchstick cut. (Sewn by the same US manufacturer as Diesel brand). But still, all time favorite jeans brand is 7 for All Mankind.
After a few years with skinny jeans now, I'm kind of getting into slim bootcut fit again. I got a pair of distressed, and now I found another pair that I want. Not too dark, not to light, just perfect.
The damage: $155.
