Balmain $15,000 jacket
I don't think anyone has missed the military trend lately, especially those Pierre Balmain Sgt. Pepper inspired jackets worn by celebs, including Beyoncé. Well, I have been searching high and low for a more affordable version (Balmain is about 15,000 dollars). I found a really cute one in the July issue of Glamour from Banana Republic, but for weeks now I have been checking their online site without success. Isn't it annoying when you see something in a magazine that then isn't available at all or much later by the retailer!
Anyway, most of the options I found were too over the top—I don't want to look like I'm going to band camp—or kind of cheap looking. I almost gave up, until I found this jacket from Old Navy of all places. I have bought gold buttons that I will sew on to make it a little more fun.
